IYCN Presence at the First Meeting of the IUPAC Science Board

Last January 16, 2025, the IUPAC Science Board held its first in-person meeting at the Royal Society of Chemistry's Burlington House in London. This event marked a significant step in shaping IUPAC's future strategy and vision. The IUPAC Science Board, established in 2024, aims to set scientific priorities, allocate budgets, and foster inter-divisional collaboration for the coming decade. The discussions will be presented for approval at the IUPAC Council meeting in Malaysia in July 2025.

The IYCN was represented by the Chair, Dr Tien Thuy Quach, who is currently a Teaching Fellow in Pharmaceutics at Aston University, and she shared about the great opportunity for the IYCN Executive Board and IYCN delegates to be involved. IYCN delegates will be give more opportunities to join Task Groups for future IUPAC projects.

The meeting emphasized international cooperation and the development of the chemical sciences. Read more about this meeting here.
